The Christ Embassy Drama Department is passionate about presenting the Gospel of Jesus in a unique way. Our goal is to provide thought-provoking entertainment that challenges the viewers perspective and perception of the world around them. Secular theatre can be very worldly and we want to combat this by giving our audience a different option for entertainment with wholesome content. Theatre is an amazing evangelistic tool for people to hear the gospel that may never normally step foot into a church building for a “regular” service. It takes hard work, dedication and commitment to bring a show to life and present it with a standard of excellence. But most importantly, our desire is that you leave having had an encounter with Jesus by what you experienced. We hope to see you at one of our shows soon!
Meet Rebekah
Rebekah is a Nicholasville KY native, growing up here and attending and graduating from East Jessamine. She loves Jesus and has been in ministry for 15 years and has been serving at Christ Embassy for the past 5. She has been the head over the Theatre department since its inception at the beginning of 2022. She studied at Bluegrass Community and Technical College with a focus in Fine Arts but has been heavily involved in theatre since she was 12 years old. Her love for Jesus and the theatre has been the catalyst behind her desire to create shows that are high quality, comedic, and entertaining but that also contain a powerful message of Jesus and His love for the world. To her it is more than a hobby, or a show but ministry. The heart behind what she does is to capture the viewers’ attention and then let Jesus do the rest.
Driven by Eternity is a best-selling book and audio drama written and produced by John Bevere that has been turned into a full length, full stage production. It is a dramatic, impactful, heart-wrenching, thought-provoking story that everyone can relate to. This show, through biblical application and personal relevant character arcs challenges the audience to shift their focus from the temporal, earthly pursuits to an eternal perspective. It invites you on a soul- searching journey to discover the significance of our choices and actions in light of eternity. It has names and places that are uncommon in our ordinary life and the characters you see are emotions that we take on. For instance, our 5 friends are Charity, Selfish, Faintheart, Deceived and Independent and they live in a land called Endel (Earth). Their pursuit and goal is to live for King Jaylin (Jesus) and make it into Affabel (Heaven). We invite you to come along on their journey and find out what each of these characters did with the life that they have been given.
